Every person shall prosper.
Hello, I am Nicholas Everage, and I am putting together a committee to see if it would be feasible for me to run for the presidency. We live in the world's greatest country. But yet, when I see our political candidates, all I see is more of the same old thing. It's time for someone with common sense and authentic new ideas to take this country to the next level. On my issues page, you will see my thoughts on doing this, and you will also see what I am passionate about. I love this country, and every American should prosper.
Political party?
Well, I have voted Democrat, and I have voted Republican. But my values are more aligned with the Republican Party. If I were to run for president, I would be independent. If you look at Washington DC, the current people in office and those running for office are all the same; they are fighting for their political party, not their country. If elected, I want to be known for fighting for our country and not a political party. I want to unite the country and unite people to solve the complex issues we have at hand.
In the United States' history, only one president, George Washington, did not represent a political party. Washington wanted to be a president of all American citizens. The most important reason was that he believed in unity and not division. Washington felt strongly that political parties would divide and destroy the United States. Throughout George Washington's life, he was confident that the country should function without political parties.
"United we stand, divided we fall"
Abraham Lincoln
Mark 3:25
King James Version
25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."
In God We Trust
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America
and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation
Under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
Complete version of "The Star-Spangled Banner"
O say can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming,
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight
O'er the ramparts we watch'd were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare, the bomb bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there,
O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
On the shore dimly seen through the mists of the deep
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines in the stream,
'Tis the star-spangled banner - O long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
And where is that band who so vauntingly swore,
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion
A home and a Country should leave us no more?
Their blood has wash'd out their foul footstep's pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave,
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
O thus be it ever when freemen shall stand
Between their lov'd home and the war's desolation!
Blest with vict'ry and peace may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the power that hath made and preserv'd us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto - "In God is our trust,"
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
